The project brought together merchandise, publishing, illustration, and animation—including a zine celebrating the team’s 2006 championship season. For the accompanying animation, Burnie was drawn and colored entirely by hand using ink and markers. Each individual frame was then animated to create a deliberately handmade, analog feel. For the holiday season, we created our own epic light show that accentuates the sporty design and aggressive style of the 500X Sport. We created our own set featuring futuristic white lights and captured elevated shots of a 500X Sport being illuminated in a stylistic, dynamic way. We captured holiday specific content that was shared throughout the holiday season as well as winter content that was shared during January. I started thinking about how big other sports events like the super bowl are, and thought why cant we make the Puppy Bowl as huge and exciting! After that I pitched the ‘Big Game’ idea and built out a whole graphic package to be used on air and off air for all promo materials. The style guide was built for the 2020 Puppy Bowl and is still continued to be used today.
